Money, marketing, and the purity of your Astrology Practice

October 31, 2006

Many Astrologers are understandably concerned about the purity of their practice. They don’t want to “sully” the spiritual nature of Astrology with things like money or marketing.

How then can an Astrologer make a living?

The answer is that Astrology can be pure AND provide you with an excellent income.

I used to ask for donations only when I first started out as an Astrologer.

But then I noticed something odd:

People were perfectly willing to spend all sorts of money on things: movies, expensive dinners, fancy cars, gourmet coffee, and new clothes.

Why then wouldn’t they spend money on an infinitely more valuable service — namely the insights, clarity, hope, and inspiration that astrology can provide?

I therefore started charging for my readings — and an even more interesting thing took place:

Suddenly, people took my readings much more seriously.

Money is a symbol, a symbol of commitment. When people pay money, they are investing their life energy into their purchase. They are making a deeper commitment than when something is free.

And so I’ve found that paying clients are more likely to be committed to my process and to getting the most value they can out of a reading.

This has in turn forced me to keep deepening my knowledge and get better — so that I can better serve my clients.

Ironically, charging money has given my practice more integrity, better results, and therefore — in my opinion — greater purity.

You can practice Astrology and make an excellent living. That’s why my program provides tools for you to market your services and earn what you deserve.

Here is the preface to our program manual

October 18, 2006

Some of you have requested an excerpt of our program manual, to give a better sense of Sam’s approach. Following is the preface to our new and revised program manual:

Preface

Thank you for taking this major step toward becoming a professional and practicing astrologer! This book is a quick start manual to get you familiar with some of the key concepts necessary to work as a professional astrologer. There are so many books written about astrology that we found it unnecessary to re-invent the wheel. We, actually, saw a different need.

I have read literally tons of astrological books and articles, and all too often there’s too much verbiage. In fact, my greatest frustration as a novice astrologer was that the books I read seem to prime me to learn a lot of things by rote, but I didn’t understand the intuitive reasoning behind what I was learning.

This book seeks both to simplify complex ideas and to encourage an intuitive grasp of basic concepts to quickly launch a student into the exciting world of professional astrology. There are plenty of other resources, in the form of books, articles, websites, and audio materials, where students can round out their education and deepen their understanding of astrology. It would be foolish to think we can supply our students with an introductory text and a totally comprehensive book on astrology. I doubt if such a volume could or should ever exist. We need different “things” at different times.

Now is the time for you, as a beginning, intermediate or advanced student, to acquaint or re-acquaint yourself enough with the basics to start or continue doing astrological charts. It’s the first step to acquiring the skills to earn the money you deserve to make. As you use this book in tandem with our marketing books, you will be more than on your way to an exciting and prosperous life as a professional astrologer. As you become more comfortable looking at natal charts (and you’ll soon come to know what that means, if you don’t already), you can count on us to supply even more resources and advice to advance your knowledge and abilities!

This book is just to get you to take the first BIG step. Enjoy.

Blessings, always, in all ways,

Samuel F. Reynolds, M.A.
